Before you book
Before confirming a charter, most buyers want clarity on four things: how payment is structured, who is on board, what happens if the weather turns, and what their options are if plans change. The answers below set out exactly how we handle each, based on how our charters from Alimos Marina actually run week to week.
These are general terms that apply across our fleet of six yachts, whether you're booking a day trip or a week-long route through the Cyclades. If you need a rule confirmed in writing for your specific booking, our office can do that before you pay the deposit.
Deposits, crew, weather and cancellations
How do the deposit and balance payments work?
We ask for a 30% deposit to confirm the booking, with the remaining balance due 14 days before departure. Both payments are invoiced in EUR and can be paid by bank transfer, and a confirmation email follows once the deposit clears.
Who is on board for a crewed charter?
Every crewed charter carries 2 to 4 crew depending on the yacht and the length of the trip, typically a skipper plus hosting or deck crew. Crew numbers are fixed at the time of booking and confirmed in your itinerary.
What happens if the weather is bad on the day of departure?
The skipper checks the forecast and sea state on the morning of departure and may adjust the route, shorten the day, or move to a more sheltered part of the Saronic Gulf. If conditions make departure unsafe, we reschedule to the next available slot within the same booking window at no extra charge.
What are the cancellation and rescheduling terms?
Cancellations made more than 14 days before departure forfeit the deposit but owe no further balance; cancellations inside 14 days are liable for the full charter fee. Rescheduling to another date within the same season is possible at no extra cost, subject to yacht and crew availability.
